| Give me the rundown on Treebeard server Posted: 26 Jul 2021 09:42 AM PDT So I'm finally able to buy a computer for the first time in ten years since my old one crapped out on me. I played lotro in 2007-08 and it was the only mmo I really enjoyed. I've decided to play lotro again as I've heard the community is still active and positive. I've heard about Treebeard server, that many returning players are using it to start out, so a lot of the starting areas are populated, unlike the old servers. I was just wondering how leveling handles on treebeard. Like do you need to do every quest in each starting area in order to level up? If so that's not a problem, I really enjoy the starting areas, and prefer the journey the game takes you over end game content. I just want to better understand what is necessary in order to get to say, rivindell. [link] [comments] | ||

| Technical difficulties on Windows 7. Posted: 26 Jul 2021 11:15 AM PDT I downloaded the game because i wanted to play it after about 6-9 years away from it. However, i quickly encountered an error on the install/download screen thing. The error message was: "Failed to load patchclient [cannot load library patchclient: The application has failed to start because it's side-by-side configuration is incorrect. Please see the application event log, or use the command-line sxstrace.exe tool for more detail.]" I am running Windows 7. here are the steps i have already taken to try to resolve the problem. Re-downloaded the game twice ran "sfc /scannow" (no problems detected) Ran "chkdsk" (no problems detected) deleted and re-installed all Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime libraries I know this has been a problem before because i found some forum posts about it. One from 2013 and one from January 2021. Neither of these have been helpful. [link] [comments] |
