I'm new to the game, was having a blast with my minstrel, got it up to level 21 or so.. ..then last night, had a boys night, got really drunk and really high, and then came home and sat down to play some LOTRO Looks like I spent about 200 bucks getting every expansion, bunch of inventory slots, that Valar pack that levels you up to 120 and some assorted other stuff. Hop on this morning and now I have no idea how any of this works. What's a war steed? How do I level it up? What's a legendary item? Why do I have so many "mentor" skills? There's traits and points and stats and shit everywhere now. Did I ruin my character? What do I do now? What do I need to do to get my toon functional at this level? It gave me a set of gear and a choice of legendary stuff (I picked the song books), so I'm at least geared up.. ..why does this war horse drift like it's Fast and Furious? Hell man, I just now noticed these virtue things, have they been there the whole time? Someone give me some hope, what do I do now? [link] [comments] | ||

| Posted: 01 Jul 2021 01:36 PM PDT I tried running the game today after running it a couple of months ago, and Steam briefly had it open, but immediately closed it. I can't run it at all. The issue is that I don't know how to run as an administrator, and there's no option for compatibility troubleshooting. I uninstalled and reinstalled it and updated Java, and still nothing. I'm even part of a Tolkien group where I live. As for LOTRO, I'm a really new player but I'm completely in love with the game and I regret not having played it before. The game is exactly what I've been looking for in a MMO and most of all in a game set in Middle-earth. I never got the opportunity to play LOTRO until very recently, but that's when I've found out that they gave almost the entire game's content for free last year, and I missed it! That's so sad. So is there a kind elven soul out there who happens to have a spare account with the giveaway coupon activated and that could give it to me? You see, I don't want to buy an account from anybody or anything of the sort. I'm asking for a spare account that is accumulating dust because you don't use it anymore and know that you or someone else will never use it again. Perhaps it's even an account made specifically for that purpose: to use the giveaway code and then gift it to a friend. Had I been playing LOTRO when they made the giveaway, I would be one of the first to redeem the code, because like I said above I'm completely in love with the game and will definitely stick to it for a very long time. I will also buy the expansion trove for $60, so it's not as if I want everything for free without supporting the amazing developers. I will support them. | Question about Captain Heralds Posted: 30 Jun 2021 06:52 PM PDT I noticed a big problem with this game is that because there have been so many reworks and revamps over the years, looking up information online is almost always out of date. Those reworks are definitely warranted and I think the game plays better now than 10 years ago. I did quit for ten years (with a brief stop by 2 years ago but wasn't feeling it). Anyways, question... the heralds don't seem very strong. The Herald of War for instance gives +2% damage which seems like a bit of a joke. Either I don't understand the math here and that's incredible, or there has to be a way to improve it that I am unaware of. So my question is, what am I missing? Thanks for any replies. | What New Difficulty is Closest to Launch? Posted: 01 Jul 2021 12:01 AM PDT I played this game infrequently as a free to play player from 2009-2012. I quit the game after the 2012 expansion when the open world was made too easy. I enjoyed the difficulty (as a kid) exploring Middle Earth and meeting others in an effort to survive our perilous adventures. I just saw the announcement of the Treebeard server, which I am excited to finally return to this game with like-minded players, but I find myself asking the question: which difficulty is closest to the original game at launch? If answers are unsure since this is all so new, I will likely choose the hardest +6 difficulty and rolling with a kinship doing the same thing. I am happy to return to Middle Earth again. Of course now i have to buy new expansions, what should I go for? I was thinking about the Trove Expansion which has HD and Mordor, what do you guys think ? Is it a waste of money at this point? Also I'm a bit confused about Gondor, is it just quest packs or is part of an expansion? And what about north mirkwood and Dale, how can i get access to quests in those zones? I'm sorry if the questions sound dumb, I've been playing on and off for 8 years but I'm still a noob and have a hard time understanding how these things work. | Changing to higher difficulty before lvl 11 Posted: 30 Jun 2021 03:08 PM PDT I wanted to start the game with Dangerous difficulty and switched to Deadly at level 7 but the deed for the deadly did not unlock. Is this intentional and should I just make a new character and not select a difficulty for the first few levels instead? Or wils the deed still unlock for me after reaching level 50 despite not showing on the deed log. I couldn't find any official info about this issue. [link] [comments] | ||
| What's the turnaround time for support now a days? Posted: 30 Jun 2021 01:22 PM PDT I used to play Lotro on and off for years and decided I would finally try to get in the legendary server treebeard. My account had most purchases from all the races and classes to even a couple expansion passes from what I remember. Last time I played was probably Fall of 2020 and probably made it to 50 before I put it down again. Now I can't get access to my account for some reason even when resetting my password it continues to tell me its wrong. Would it be worth to just start on another account cause I know ill be VIP anyways? I just wanted to see what happened to my old one since I was on it fairly recently and if I could get back on it as I like everything in one place. I already have a ticket submitted but it has been a little over a week now as I saw this happening a little too late to get it all sorted and no response for now.
