    Most fun melee solo class?

    Posted: 24 Mar 2021 07:09 PM PDT

I've played this game off and on for years but never made it all that far. I want to commit to playing through a toon all the way but was looking for some advice. I want to play a melee class and I'm leaning towards champ or captain. I would prefer heavy armor but if a compelling argument can be made for warden or burglar I'd consider. Which melee class would you suggest for a player looking to play solo primarily for the main story?

    “New” player coming from WoW.

    Posted: 24 Mar 2021 11:53 AM PDT

Hello. I am a player that has been playing WoW classic for a while now. I recently found this game again, and really enjoy it! I played it a while back, and got to around level 30 ish and bought the warden for free before I quit. Coming back about 4 years later, I started playing with a group of about 5 other friends. Anywho, in classic I am a tank, a warrior tank to be precise. Since I love warden and using the gambits, I decided to play another warden with them and be their tank! I just hit level 20, got addicted to farming and cooking stuff, and am now prepping to tank the great barrow which is 20-24 if I read that right. Any tips for warden tanking I need to know? So far I just use my 10-man taunt ability and use heal gambits.

    Are endgame wardens alright?

    Posted: 24 Mar 2021 10:37 AM PDT

Hey everyone. Like many I'm a returning player and just have a quick question. I love the play style of wardens, but looking at forums it seems that warden tanks are quite meh currently. If I were to roll dps would It still be viable in a group/raid setting? Or would I get passed over for other dps options. Thanks in advance!

Casual player looking to enjoy the game with someone else

    Posted: 24 Mar 2021 01:11 PM PDT

Going to keep this short in case it gains no attention. I am looking to enjoy the game at a slow pace. When I say slow pace I mean I want to actually read quests and take in the lore and the zones. I'd love to do it alongside someone else.

I am on Arkenstone. I am currently a level 7 elf.. taking my time. I hear we can meet up at the Bree so that's my goal.

Please leave a comment with your discord or feel free to DM me.

Hope to see you in Middle Earth.

Help! Not connected to General Chat!

    Posted: 24 Mar 2021 01:35 PM PDT

Since this evening I haven't been able to be connected to the general chat. I can't send or read messages on World or Kinship channel, when I sent a message to World channel, a message of "you are not in a world channel" jumped out; and when I sent a message to Kinship channel, it said "general error". But I was able to send private messages to someone in my kinship. Does anyone know what happened and how to fix this?

Edit: I tried restarting the computer. It didn't work.

Edit again: okay... I restarted my router. I was still not connected initially but after 15 mins or so the chat was back on. Apparently it was the server issue.

    Need Some Advice

    Posted: 24 Mar 2021 07:53 AM PDT

So I played LOTRO last year. I got to the Lone-Lands, thought it was a slog, then quit. I've never played a MMORPG before and it's something I usually don't play, but I love LOTR. I still really want to experience the story and fun of exploring locations, but I don't want to slog through months of grinding. I don't have lots of time to play games like these, but I really want to experience the world.

Is there any way that I can skip the grinding and leveling up while just playing the main story, or is that not possible with this game?

VXP, Deeds, low-hanging fruit, and lvl 130

    Posted: 24 Mar 2021 08:07 AM PDT

Am I going to be cursing myself at some advanced lvl by being a completionist with the deeds? I know VXP from deeds is the best source and also finite.

I have done my research and there's like 5-8 virtues worth slotting for a Champ. Right now I'm level 50 and have them all capped. If I continue completing all the Eregion deeds I'm gonna be capping out pure garbage. I know I'll want to max them anyway to get the passive benefits but I don't want to do so at the expense of keeping my slotted traits maxed as I hit even levels

So I guess what I am asking is this: if I stay locked at 50 and finish up the deeds left undone (about half of SoA remaining) am I going to be gimping myself on easily available VXP down the line?

    New Player Recommendations

    Posted: 24 Mar 2021 02:10 AM PDT

    Hi all,

Is there a particular class that's more beginner friendly?

I'm thinking of giving lotro a go and would welcome any insights.

Warden leveling - Melee vs Ranged

    Posted: 24 Mar 2021 02:34 AM PDT

I have a warden alt I made when Moria was released I want to level.

He's sitting at 35 in Trollshaw right now, with traits resetted.

Since the last time I played it the class was overhauled at least two times, so now I don't know how to spec him.

Is red line still the way to go to level? Does going yellow (being ranged) ease questing?
