    Recited twice today on Landroval. Left here for the rest of you all:

    Twas the night before Erumas, and all through the bar
    Not a creature was stirring, not even a nâr
    The stockings were hung by the chimney with care,
    In hopes that St. Eärendil soon would be there.
    The elflings were nestled all snug in their beds;
    While visions of lembas danced in their heads;
    And young dwarves in their delvings, and entings all sap,
    Had just settled their brains for a long winter's nap.
    When out on the lawn there arose such a ruckous,
    I sprang up expecting orcs, having come for us!
    Away to the window I flew like Gwaihir,
    Tore open the shutters and out I did peer.
    Ithil on the breast of the new-fallen snow,
    Gave thoughts of Telperion, for it did shine so,
    When what to my wondering eyes did appear,
    But a ship in full flight from Ilmen's frontier!
    With an eagle plumed pilot and light like mithril,
    I knew in a moment he must bear the Silmaril!
    Eight stars flying wind-swift his heralds they came,
    And he whistled, and shouted, and called them by name:
    "Now, Borgil! now, Carnil! now Lumbar and Helluin!
    On, Luinil, on, small Til! on, Nénar and Morwinyon!
    To the top of the porch! to the top of the wall!
    Now dash away! dash away! dash away all!"
    As lais that before winter's frost-gale do fly,
    When they meet with an obstacle, mount to the sky;
    So up to the holetop the heralds they flew
    With Vinglot full of toys, and St. Eärendil too—
    And then, in a twinkling, I heard on the hill
    The skipping and scraping of the ship's keel.
    As I drew in my head, and was turning around,
    Down the chimney St. Eärendil came with a bound.
    He wore armor of silver, from his head to his foot,
    It shone bright and untarnished, save ashes and soot;
    A bundle of toys he had flung on his back,
    And he looked like glad Bilbo just opening his pack.
    His eyes—how they twinkled! his dimples, how merry!
    His sword was like star-light, his shield out of faerie!
    His droll little mouth bent like dragon-horn bow,
    And the beard on his face was pale-white as the snow;
    The stump of a pipe he held tight in his teeth,
    And Leaf smoke, it encircled his head like a wreath;
    He had a warm face with ample amenity
    And often he smiled with gladness and readily
    He was slender and tall, a right cheery old elf,
    And I laughed when I saw him, in spite of myself;
    A wink of his eye 'neath his adamant helm
    Soon gave me to know that the West was his realm;
    He spoke not a word, but went straight to his work,
    And filled all the stockings; then turned with a jerk,
    And giving a touch to the gem on his brow,
    Rose up the chimney, and then to his ship's prow;
    He sprang to the wheel, and unanchored the vessel,
    And away they all flew like an elanor petal.
    But I heard him exclaim, ere he sailed out of sight—
    "Happy Erumas to all, and to all a good night!"

    I see all your fancy pre-order and special edition boxes, with stickers and books and statues, and I fold because every penny I've spent on this game has been entirely digital and thus have no swag

    expansions and quest packs

    I am a new player and I want to unlock all the areas and quests.I noticed that if you are vip some expancions and quest packs are free.The question here is that if your vip expires do you lose acces to those areas and quests?If you are vip do you still need to buy some expansions?And finally is it cheaper to just buy all the expansions and quest packs?

    Which Class to Valar?

    Hi everyone,

    with valars being 50% off, I am trying to decide what alt I want to valar. I like classes with high survivability, and I've narrowed it down to a captain or a champion (although I'm still open to other ideas). I primarily want to use this toon for end game content, and I'm not interested in crafting a new LI to level to cap, so I want to stick and level what the valar gives me.

    I know that yellow captains are great for tanking, but I'm pretty sure the valar gives a 2H halberd (vs. a 1h sword / 2h sword), so while I think this would work for a red line cappy (not sure if this is in demand for end game), not sure if I would be able to trait in yellow.

    I'm planning on getting to cap with whichever toon I boost to 120, and then running stairs / some of remm t1 in order to get it geared quickly. Any advice or personal experience is appreciated, thanks and have a wonderful holidays and new year!

    Having trouble with signing in.

    Hey all!

    I'm able to sign in and see the worlds, but all appear as closed. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling but the same problem came up. Has anyone had this issue before or have any advice?

    Friends Refuse to play LOTRO because of graphics

    My friends like LOTR ( movies & books ) but their main reason not to start playing Lord of the Rings Online are the graphics and the outdated combat system. But mostly the graphics and it being a 2007 game. They are currently playing BDO.

    Can this subreddit give some arguments as to why they should start playing (or not)?

    Best Graphics Settings for 12-man Raids?

    Hi, I was wondering if anyone into end game content /raiding could help me with the best graphics settings for end game raids/instances for clarity. I have a Ryzen 5 3600X/RTX 2060, and on low preset I was dropping down to sub-10 FPS during the new three peaks raid. Would running on the 64 bit client or an older direct x version be better? Thanks in advance!

    question re pelennor and osgiliath battles

    .- have characters all at 109 but haven't done Chapter 4-6 of the relevant book to get to battles; i can get to north illien to progress but is there way to get to post pelennor battle without doing epic- characters would be gray for the epic chapters? tried minas tirith midsummer but did nothing re finding domeone to progress quests'

    I dabbled with this game in the past, but ended up not getting super far. I can't remember what server I was on but it seemed no matter what time of day i was on, things were pretty barren. I find myself wanting to try again, however, but figure this time I should make better effort to try to find some folks to play with before diving back in. Is the effort worth it at this point, though? Is the game still active enough to bother?

    A little about me, I've been playing WoW on and off since 2005, same with FFXIV for maybe six or seven years, and I've also invested into STO a bit. Over the years I became very interested in RP, which I would like to do here, and I would love to find a guild/group that focuses primarily on that, but at the same time I do like to do actual content sometimes. I don't have any desire to be "best of the best" master raider or any such thing, and when it comes down to it I'm a shameless casual.

    Audio issues

    Firstly just to possibly nip this in the bud early, is there usually audio when you launch the game and you see the Standing Stones logo and if you just got it you get a opening cinematic? I use headphones and there wasn't audio. I viewed the class/race cinematics and no audio.

    I went and adjusted the settings. I get the music but still no audio during cinematics. Started a quick game to see how the audio works. Music is real choppy and will just cut out. I don't know what I'm doing wrong. I don't own nor can afford speakers so I can't fall back on that. I'd appreciate any help you can provide. Thank you and have a nice day and Merry Christmas.
