Witness to the Sun and Moon (Durin's Day)

I kinda want to try Beorning, but I'm not sure I could bear it.

Going from bear form to man sounds unbearable, it might cause my mental state to fly off its bearings.

But for real, not sure I can justify spending half my points to unlock a class when I have others to try and until my expansion section of the store looks bare (everything has been bought).

Please bare any strong opinions on the class.

    Cant join chat channels

    Posted: 15 Oct 2020 04:50 PM PDT

I havent played in a while, maybe 3 months. When I log in now, I dont join any channels. I get the following output from chat commands

/listchannels You're not currently in any User Channels. /joinchannel glff You didn't join room 'glff' /joinchannel world You cannot /joinchannel world, since it is already a command to talk on a chat channel. To turn on/off this chat channel, right-click on the chat window tab and use the Change Filters submenu.

Setting the chat window output to any of the listed channels results in a message saying im not in any x channel

You are not in a World Channel.

Does anyone know what is going on, or how to fix this?

Edit: Found a fix here http://archive.lotrocommunity.eu/technical-assistance-forum-737/164633-chat-channels-unavailable-work-around.html

Had to change the port number in UserPreferences.ini. I used port 9001, that allowed my client to connect to the chat server.

Reading all the lotro quests - elf introduction

Returning player and I can't find my characters - what am I missing?

    Posted: 15 Oct 2020 03:49 AM PDT

So I've been getting back into LotR of late and I wanted to come back to LotRO, which still stands as my favourite MMO experience bar none.

Unfortunately I can't find any of my characters! My kinship and I were originally on Elendilmir and I think we stopped playing before any waves of transfers started, though I remember hearing about them.

I have looked online for help, but everything I can find talks about a "transfer button" which isn't there on my launcher or on the game's starting menu screen. I've seen pictures of a launcher with a transfer button but mine only has a play button. (Freshly installed tonight so it must be up to date.)

I have looked through the account screens at https://myaccount.standingstonegames.com/home.php and there's basically nothing there.

I have looked on every single server I can access and none of my characters are there - 0/9 characters on every server.

    Help! What am I missing?

I really don't want to start over as I'm a slow leveller, I spent a lot of money on Turbine Points back in the day for stuff that I wouldn't get back on a new character (cool mounts etc) and it would just feel like wasted effort.

    How does it compare

    Posted: 15 Oct 2020 12:36 PM PDT

I played LOTRO years ago as a teenager and being a Tolkien nerd I keep wanting to get back into it however since then I have been spoilt by FFXIV and don't know how it would compare to one of the best and most active MMO's around.

I prefer playing healer/support classes and usually spend as much time crafting as I do everything else so good crafting is a plus. I also would play on an English EU server, in case that matters.

    Thanks for reading.

    How to unlock virtue traits?

    Posted: 15 Oct 2020 08:21 AM PDT

I've looked through several wiki pages of the virtue traits and have gone to at least one specific virtue trait page (discipline) and I'm not seeing a way to determine the source of unlocking them.

Is there a list somewhere that shows which deed/action/quest unlocks the specific virtue traits?

    Thank you.
