    How to progress?

    Posted: 24 Aug 2020 07:00 PM PDT

New player and a fan of Tolkien Universe. Playing for some weeks and fascinated. Not so much about game systems and mechanics, but about the atmosphere. For a Lore-focused-gamer how do you recommend to progress? Doing all Quests in a region or do just the Epic Ones? I've tried doing all the Quets in Bree-land before move on to Lone Lands, but this way i end up being some levels above the Epic Quests so i think i loss the challenge aspect. Meanwhile all the time i spent doing the Side Quests made me forgot the Lore behind the Epic Quest Line and lost "momentum". Can i do all the Quests in a region after finishing the Epic ones?

    Not buying instance packs

    Posted: 24 Aug 2020 09:54 PM PDT

I need to decide of I'm going to buy the instance packs for isengard and rohan.

What exactly am I missing out? Will quests bought with the quest packs be unavailable or is it about skirmishes etc?

I have bought everything else from the 99 LP offer.

Size of LOTRO back in 2007

    Posted: 24 Aug 2020 04:13 AM PDT

    Mae govannen dear people!

After playing the beta back in 2007 I bought the lifetime pass for LOTRO (before giving it to a friend). Now I'm curious how big the game was when it first launched. Since the size of LOTRO's map is a very popular topic it's hard to find what I'm looking for. Does anybody remember how far the lands reached to the east?

How can I tell what content I own?

    Posted: 24 Aug 2020 07:35 AM PDT

I used "lotrofreequests" and bought a bunch of 99 LP items, but now I can't figure out what expansions I own and which I don't. I'm considering getting the "quad pack" but I can't tell if I already own some or all of the content.

I bought Expansion Quests: Rohan, Mirkwood, Helm's Deep, and Isengard. Does that mean I can go into Mirkwood? Or do I need to buy "siege of mirkwood" expansion? I've got access to Rune-Keeper, but is that because I'm a VIP?

None of the discount stuff I bought seems to include any Moria content, so do I need to buy "Mines of Moria" expansion? Or is it included as a VIP?

I'm confused, despite the fact that there are other threads on this sub on this same topic!

    The quad pack includes:

    Mines of Moria

    • Over 350 quests designed to support player levels 50 - 60.

    • Seven full fellowship instances (Dark Delvings, Fil Gashan, Skumfil, The Sixteenth Hall, The Forges of Khazad-dum, The Grand Stair, and The Forgotten Treasury).

    • Two 12-person raids (Filikul and The Vile Maw).

    • Heal or deal damage with a Rune-keeper or use powerful attack combos and self-healing as a Warden!

    • Raise the rank cap on your skirmish soldier and skirmish traits to 15, allowing you to further train your soldier and increase its effectiveness in skirmishes!

    • Live the legend of two more heroes of Middle-earth with 2 additional character slots!

    Siege of Mirkwood

    • Join the elves of LothlĆ³rien in war against Sauron among the ancient ruins, spider-haunted canyons, and foul bogs of Mirkwood.

    • 150 quests designed to support player levels 60 - 65.

    • Three 3-person instances (Dungeons of Dol Guldur, Sword-hall of Dol Guldur, Warg-pens of Dol Guldur).

    • One full fellowship instance (Sammath Gul).

    • One 12-person raid (Barad Guldur).

    • Raise the rank cap on your skirmish soldier and skirmish traits to 25, allowing you to further train your soldier and increase its effectiveness in skirmishes!

    Rise of Isengard

    • Journey eastward toward the tower of Orthanc where an army of Isengard Orcs and Uruk-hai make ready for war.

    • Over 375 quests designed to support player levels 65 - 75.

    • Three 3-person instances (Fangorn's Edge, Pits of Isengard, Dargnakh Unleashed).

    • One full fellowship instance (The Foundry).

    • One 12-person instance (The Tower of Orthanc).

    • One 12-person raid (Draigoch's Lair).

    • Raise the rank cap on your skirmish soldier and skirmish traits to 35, allowing you to further train your soldier and increase its effectiveness in skirmishes!

Riders of Rohan Ride into Combat atop your loyal War-steed as you defend the people of Rohan from the forces of Isengard and Mordor.

    • Journey through hundreds of new quests designed to support players levels 75-85.

    • Explore landscape nearly three times as large as Moria!

    • Experience Mounted Combat!

    • Customize your War-steed's armor and level its skills over time to aid you in mounted defense of King ThĆ©oden's lands.

    • Receive an exclusive Rohirrim Mount and in-game Rohirrim title!

    • Witness the breaking of the Fellowship at Amon Hen; forge alliances with the Ents of Fangorn; and aid Ɖomer, nephew of ThĆ©oden, as he seeks to protect his homeland from the growing Shadow.

Lotro installed without Steam - How to create Steam-Lotro Account?

    Posted: 24 Aug 2020 03:19 PM PDT

    Hi,

I have installed LOTRO default way and want to play it that way. (Unfortunately I still can't login with my old login information)

Recently I noticed Lotro is also on Steam. But when I press PLAY at Steam, it forces me to install it from steam newly, instead of using my existing installation...

How can I simply add a Lotro-Steam-Account? So I can login at my original Lotro.exe now?
