Posted: 01 Jan 2020 05:19 PM PST I keep getting the "PatchClientDLL::CheckDatFiles Failed. [Unable to decrypt and deserialize the data downloaded from the server.]" error. I am downloading from steam. Anyone have a fix? Edit: I tried to download the HD version before getting on the first time if that is important Edit 2: I deleted all the files and I am starting over again Edit 3: I figured it out. On the drop down menu for the launcher, click options, then click repair. It will repair all the files and I can launch the game. Thanks for everybody's suggestions. Maybe the post or at least this last edit can be pinned for anyone in the future who has this problem. [link] [comments]
Crash to Desktop in Ost Elendil Posted: 01 Jan 2020 03:47 PM PST My family and I play LOTRO together. One of our computers, my younger son's, seems to crash to desktop during battles, most recently twice in Ost Elendil just as we are fighting Belhast. While I had had issues with occasional CTDs with that computer before, they seemed to resolve after moving from win7 to win10 Home with a clean install. Following are the system specs and the only recurring error message besides the usual "Gee, the system shutdown unexpectedly. How did that happen?" message. OS Name Microsoft Windows 10 Home Version 10.0.18362 Build 18362 Other OS Description Not Available OS Manufacturer Microsoft Corporation System Name DESKTOP-A2T4KQL System Manufacturer System manufacturer System Model System Product Name System Type x64-based PC System SKU To Be Filled By O.E.M. This security permission can be modified using the Component Services administrative tool. Any insight or advice would be welcome. Our playtime together is precious (no pun intended) so we appreciate any help that is offered. Update: Update: I did look into modifying the registry as the Microsoft Boards recommend, but when I tried I found no CLSID folder under the Roots folder. So, I thought I might see if there are any other approaches before making any changes to the registry. Update: I installed Windbg to help me analyze any memory dumps, but I'm not seeing any listed, or I''m not finding them in the usual file under the Windows folder. I'm beginning to wonder if what I'm looking at is not a CTD at all, but merely the graphics drivers giving out causing a black screen. (That might explain why I'm seeing no memory dump listed in the event viewer, just the events where we rebooted without shutting down.) If that's the case, why is his character showing as "Link Lost" message on his fellowship icon? [link] [comments]

Posted: 01 Jan 2020 02:11 PM PST Hey everyone, My girlfriend recently started playing this game with her family but theres been this one random issue halting it. Every time she tries playing the game will be fine until her the cursor will randomly freeze then glitch around the screen, making it unplayable. It seems to happen randomly and I can't find anything online as how to fix it. We know it isnt her mouse because we tried different games on her PC and games on mine and it's worked just fine. Any ideas/suggestions would be very appreciated! Thank you [link] [comments]
Posted: 01 Jan 2020 12:24 PM PST Hello!, My brother along with a buddy are getting ready to take a dive into the game. I was wondering if there is any advice you could give to new players or that one piece of information you wish you had when you started. Not new to MMO's. Should we roll characters on the Legendary server or just jump into a normal server. [link] [comments]
Posted: 01 Jan 2020 07:44 AM PST I'm going to make a Beorning on Laurelin as I want to try something different and look forward to roleplaying it. But I'm wondering if there are any Beorning-only RP kinships? I can't seem to find any online and perhaps they don't exist. I'm wondering if joining a Rohirrim kinship would've been possible and realistic in this case. [link] [comments] |
