| I'm worried all my characters are gone Posted: 23 Dec 2019 05:41 PM PST Back when Winfola server was going to be shutdown, I stopped playing LOTRO. It seems a lot has happened since then. Now I see a new company, Standing Stone, is running the show. I've started downloading, but I cannot access my account, even though it recognizes that I have one. Forgot username does return my correct username to my email, but cannot log in to my account. I'm worried that all my stuff was deleted. What do you guys think? Am I lost into darkness or is there a ray of hope? [link] [comments] | ||

Posted: 23 Dec 2019 02:58 PM PST Hi, I just hit level 105 and since I play this game in completionist mode region by region I plan to stay here for long and gear up as I always do. Problem is that scaled gear was significantly rescaled because people cried about too big of jump from Gondor to Mordor, but T8 essences didn't get any rescaling which is makes the entire essence gear irrelevant compared to the scaled pieces, to the point where even purple Skirmish Camp barter gear is probably better overall. Same story as with T7 essences at level 100, also useless, but it was outperformed by easily attainable 95 level crafted/barter gear, but thats the last point where crafting in the game exists, it was abandoned later so I have no such alternative for 105 gear. What are the sources of scaled gear for me? So far I know of: -gear of the Traveller for motes, already got 3 purple pieces with adequate stats one essence slot -mathom hunter boxes, I have a few but nothing interesting there -scaled gear drop from instances though it will take ages to get the exact pieces and most of them don't even have a known drop location, plus to finish them efficiently I have to drag higher level friends with me who get no benefit of completing instances so far below their level. And I won't find anyone on-level of course since people play the game to skip the game I also see that some of the gear bartered for Long-lost Coins could be decent enough but in their wisdom they removed the coins in favor of some stupid crafting boxes irrelevant for 100-105 level range Any other ways to get some relevant 105 gear? That's the first time I encounter the situation where a certain level range is so broken by updates aimed at newer region that you cannot even get any good gear unless you go completely out of your way and go back to old instances for scaled gear. You meet people and create game sessions with them. The app works like this : 1. You list your favorite games 2. You do your personality test 3. Find similar people to play with The problem is that me and this other guy that matched with me are the only ones that listed LOTRO as their favorite game.
